How to Cook & Clean at the Same Time
Do you ever get tired of putting hamburgers on the dinner table?
NOT ME!
I love hamburgers
could eat them every day.
My husband...not so much
Today, we started back
on our healthy food (yuck)
not really
I'd like to lose a pound or 12
Do you ever cook & clean at the same time?
I'm talking - empty or clean the fridge
to make a meal?
We're going out of town
so the fridge must be clean
Here's how I cooked & cleaned tonight
A pound of ground beef browned
set aside
I sauteed onion, celery, garlic & green bell pepper
red bell pepper would have added color & taste
but I'm cooking & cleaning
out the fridge
remember?
Saute till veggies change colors
not like a chameleon
just so you can see thru them
somewhat translucent
Add ground beef back to pan
with a can of tomato soup
cleaning out the pantry this time
Cleaning out the fridge & pantry
cuts down food waste and
saves on the grocery bill, cha-ching!
So quick and takes just like the original stuffed peppers
see the rice?
"Stir-fry UN-stuffed Pepper"
is what I named it.
served with some baked broccoli
&
broccoli salad
two sides of broccoli helps with the diet
exercise on a stalk
I worried the hubs wouldn't eat it
ha! he cleaned his plate
complimented my efforts
wants the leftovers
as a sloppy joe!
Pumped,
Tammy

Ever cleaned the fridge and created a keeper recipe from a throw down?
I'd love to hear about it. Love me with a comment!

Saturday Southern Slang - "tongue shui"
My household makes up a lot of words,
then, we USE them...
Some days are better than others
some days i should keep my mouth shut
tape it up
I say stupid stuff not even trying
Today's Saturday Southern Slang
is
"tongue shui"
like feng shui but for the mouth
Definition: saying the right things in harmony with the environment & others
Used in a sentence: I'm sorry, did that hurt your feelings? I guess my tongue shui is off today!
or
I could tell you how to get rid of those bumps on your face but my tongue shui says I shouldn't.
Be careful little mouth what you say
my mom always says "if you can't say something good, don't say anything."
have you got a tongue that's loose at both ends?
practice some tongue shui
think about your words and place them carefully in the room
people and the environment will love you for it
There's a reason for thinkin' before you go speakin'
Tongue what?

Why getting Wet is better than being Dry
We've had a rainy summer in Georgia! When the rain keeps coming, people
complain loudly. When the rain stops, people complain louder. Doesn't
seem like we the people can be happy. Gary Smith led our congregation in
a beautiful song this past Sunday, "Holy Spirit Rain Down."
I cannot listen to this song or sing it without tears raining down my
face. Such powerful, beautiful words and music by Russell Fragar. Would
you rather be in a flood or a drought?
You'd probably answer, like me, NEITHER! There are terrible things about both. Floods and droughts are dangerous, destructive and difficult. The human body is 60% water and human blood is 92% water. We must have water to live, without it we will die. The Bible says in Psalm 32:4 "For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah." The psalmist sounds like he's in a desperate place. I've lived through droughts, physical and spiritual. I hate the "dry" feeling, swiveled up without any liquid in my veins, dehydrated. Do you remember a drought in your life?
I've been in some flash floods and seen some rising water on tv. The thing about a flood is you can get out of its way, move to higher ground or get in a boat. As I listen to Holy Spirit Rain Down, I don't want the raining down of his Holy Spirit to stop! It's such a sweet Presence like a cool glass of water when you're parched and thirsty. Isn't it amazing that we can't produce water? God has to provide it or we don't get it. Water cleanses, refreshes and satisfies just like the Holy Spirit. We should be begging for it to rain down on us and in us and never stop!
Let's close up our umbrellas we're shielding ourselves with and let His Holiness rain down! Think about this...the surest place to get rained on is inside the house, His House, the church.
Praying for rain,
Tammy
