When Prayer isn't Enough...
Have you ever heard someone make the comment "My prayer didn't get out of the roof" or something like that? What they're trying to say is their prayer was just words, it didn't move God's heart. Why do our prayers fall short?
Why are our prayers not answered?
Prayer is powerful. Prayer changes things. Did you know there are two steps to a prayer:
- speak the prayer aloud or silent
- believe God for the answer
John 3:16 says eternal life comes to those who what? Believe! I'm guilty of the "Agrippa-tude" (Acts 26:28) in my prayers, are you? I pray the words and like a telegraph insert the word "stop" when I'm finished. I don't believe God to come thru with the answer. I imagine God shaking his head in disbelief saying "Tammy, almost thou persuadeth me to answer your prayer if you believed."
Christianity isn't a fairy tale or make-believe, it's MUST-BELIEVE.
Leave me a comment with your thoughts on prayer and belief.
Believing God,
Tammy

How to make Leftover Chuck Roast a Flavorful Chinese Stirfry
I had leftover chuck roast today. After making roast beef sandwiches twice, I wondered what I could do kinda creative with the leftover beef. I had asparagus I needed to use too!
I feel like a Master Chef after finding this recipe for Beef and Asparagus Stirfry! I modified it a bit and voila (or some chinese word I don't know). The result was this wonderful dish.
My modifications to Isabelle Boucher (Crumb's) recipe:
1. Use leftover chuck roast for the striploin steak
2. Add onions, chives and water chestnuts (my husband loves water chestnuts)
3. Omit the cornstarch and black bean stir fry
4. Sub the dry sherry for cooking wine on-hand
5. Shorten the cooking time because my beef was already cooked
Yummy! I prefer chicken over beef any day but I REALLY enjoyed this dish! Give it a try and let me know what ya think.
Pleasantly surprised,
Tammy

Who's in your Corner?
"IT'S NOT WHAT YOU KNOW, IT'S WHO YOU KNOW"
We've all heard the adage. I'm not sure
where it originated or how but it is true. Have you? A banker may
overlook a bad credit score to loan money if he knows you. An employer
will hire you over an educated, experienced person if you're a friend of
a friend of a friend. People will buy from you just because of an
existing relationship! Can you think of some situations where it's more
important to know someone and not knowing some thing?
My son-in-law is trying to break into the music business. His group has a manager and a booking agent. Sydnee and I were discussing his tour schedule and how he had to "know" someone to get into some top venues. She said "It's always better to have someone in your corner!" She's right. We always get better results when we have an advocate, someone who's pulling for us, someone who has our backs and someone who knows someone.
The same adage is true for everyday life and eternity. When life holds us down for the count, we need someone in our corner who knows us and we know them. The Bible says in Isaiah 28:16 " Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste." Jesus is in our corner! "Knowing" him secures us an eternal home in heaven. The knowledge that Jesus is the Son of God and he died for our sins is not enough to go to heaven.. You must "know" Jesus as your personal Savior and he know you. You must believe he is your advocate with the Heavenly Father proving truly....
