How Substitution Saved the World

teacher
I began an exciting adventure yesterday! I substitute taught at Cedar Ridge Elementary. The preparation for becoming a sub was a half day class. I found out quickly the class had little to do with actually being in the classroom.  Driving to the school last morning, the word "substitute" kept spinning around in my head like a ballerina performing a pirouette. I wondered if I'd make a good substitute.  Will I teach the the children anything? Will I please the teacher who hired me? Am I worthy to be a sub?

Revelation 5:2 asked "Who is worthy to open the book and loose the seals thereof?" John wept much because no man was found worthy to open and read the book, neither to look upon it. But wait...Cry not because BEHOLD, the Root of David has prevailed to open the book and loosen the seals! They begin to sing a new song, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing."

A Bachelors Degree or a minimum of 4 years of college is the requirement that satisfies the State of Georgia to become a teacher. A substitute is only required a 1/2 day class. Was I worthy of the job, not hardly! The job of Savior of the world required God himself. He sent his son Jesus so the world through him might be saved. He was the only one worthy to die for our atonement. Jesus' blood is the only thing that satisfies God for our unrighteousness.

JESUS...
There is no Substitute

  1. I am sure you made a great substitute.

I alway had a book of Images by Roger Burrows, The ultimate coloring experience and made copies so when the teacher didn't have any pals or not enough. It was a life saver for pre-k thru 12th.

I enjoyed it most of the time. Have fun!!!

    1. I had loads of fun! Don't get much better than 2nd grade! You know me Shirlene, I could talk for weeks so I didn't have any problem finding the kids something to do even if it was just listening to me!!! lol

  2. I'm sure you did a great job. I've been a teacher in NYC for 8 years and it's not an easy gig, but neither is being a substitute teacher. You have no idea of who the kids are or what they're learning. I always try to leave plans for my subs so they have at least something to go off of.

    Stopping by from SITS
